Ariadne Tay attempted to publish a (poorly-written) short story with TOR when she was 12 years old. They rejected her in the kindest way possible, and instead of doubling down on creative writing, she spent the next two years writing practice essays for high school admissions exams. She somehow ended up going to grad school for journalism, and somebody actually thought it was a good idea to employ her to write articles for a print magazine.
Ariadne now uses her writing skills to make readers feel things about people who don’t exist.
